Notes
|
Archocentrus centrarchus, also known as the Flier Cichlid, is a medium-sized Central American cichlid found widespread throughout Honduras and Nicaragua. They are easy to care for, are relatively easy to spawn in home aquariums, and are an attractive species. Despite this, they are not as common in the hobby as similar species such as Convicts and Firemouths.
Flier Cichlids should be kept in roomy aquariums with lots of territorial spaces formed through the use of rocks and driftwood. Plants may be uprooted by the fish but are generally okay as tank decor as well. These Cichlids can be aggressive, and Tankmates should be of similar size and temperament. Smaller fishes will be eaten if they look like they could make a good meal.
