The Bronze Cory is one of the most popular Cory Catfish available in the hobby. They are available in almost any pet shop that sells tropical fish, and also come in an albino variety. If you have a generic "Albino Cory", chances are it is C. aeneus.
These fish make great additions to small, peaceful community aquariums, and are known for the activeness and ability to clean up any sinking scraps of food off the substrate. They are shy fish, and make stick to their own area of the tank depending on their tankmates. Keep in groups of six or more, and try to purchase all the Cory's at the same time, as introducing new specimens to an established group may be difficult.
As a bottom feeder, these fish should be fed foods that will reach the bottom of the tank, such as flake foods or sinking shrimp pellets. Owners should not assume that the fish will get enough food based on scraps alone, so be sure that your Cory cat is keeping well-fed.
Corys in groups of six or more will often form pairs and spawn with ease. The parents lay eggs in a prepared area on the substrate, and the fry hatch within a few days. Feed the fry sinking fine flake foods or similar.
