Notes
Plesiotrygon iwamae is a relately newly-discovered (1987) species of freshwater Stingray from the Amazon basin in South America. It is currently the only species in the genus Plesiotrygon, and is rarely seen in the hobby of aquaria.

As its common name suggests, the Long-Tailed River Stingray has a very long tail which is actually longer than the "disc" of its body. Growing to 23" in length plus the length of its tail, a large aquarium is obviously required if the Ray is to live a long and comfortable life.

Care for this fish as you would for other South American Stingrays.
