Notes
|
Pygocentrus cariba, also known as the Black Spot Piranha, is a large species found throughout the Orinoco River basin in South America. Although these fish are said to reach lengths of 16" in their native waters, it is rare to see specimens greater than a foot in length in captivity.
These Piranhas are other carnivorous Pygocentrus species in their behavior. An ideal tank setup would be very large with lots of driftwood as decor. These fish are a schooling species.
