Notes
|
Tomocichla asfraci is a relative newcomer to the hobby, being officially described as a species in 2002. They are very rarely sold in pet shops, but their beauty is undeniable.
The fish is large, growing to fourteen inches or possibly more. They grow slower than most cichlids, but a large aquarium of at least 65 gallons will eventually be required. Although large, T. asfraci is fairly peaceful in temperament and should not be kept with more aggressive and territorial species.
Be sure to provide vegetation in this beautiful cichlid's diet.
