Notes
|
Vieja argentea, also known as the White Cichlid, is a large Cichlid from Central America. It is easily identified by its white body and large horizontal black markings on its body.
The White Cichlid is said to grow up to a foot in length, though they may not quite reach this size in the home aquarium. Females are smaller than their male counterparts, reaching a size closer to nine inches in length. An aquarium of at least sixty-five gallons will be required for adulthood, but provide more space if possible.
This fish can be territorial but usually find compatibility with fish of similar size that can fend for themselves without being overly aggressive. Smaller, slow-moving fish may be picked on.
Feed a varied diet as per other omnivorous Cichlid species.
